I Care About Kids-2023-1-FR02-KA152-YOU-000145811

The “I Care About Kids” project (2023-1-FR02-KA152-YOU-000145811), implemented under the Erasmus+ KA152-YOU Mobility of Young People programme and coordinated by Caspian Research Center, was developed to raise awareness about the impact of digital environments and virtual games on children's social lives, communication skills, and psychological development. Bringing together young participants from Azerbaijan, France, Hungary, Italy, Portugal, Türkiye the project focused on sharing methods and good practices that support the healthy development of children while increasing young people's awareness of these important issues.

The main rationale behind the project was the growing need to encourage children to engage in social, cultural, and creative activities rather than spending excessive amounts of time in digital environments. In this context, participants explored approaches that can help improve children's social skills, promote greater parental awareness regarding child development, and address the effects of technology on child psychology. The project also aimed to increase the awareness of young parents and future parents about their role and responsibilities in supporting the healthy development of children.

Throughout the project, participants had the opportunity to develop their knowledge and competencies in areas such as child development, communication, teamwork, creativity, and social responsibility through a variety of non-formal learning activities. Practical workshops, kite-flying activities, puppet theatre exercises, role-playing sessions, group work, and intercultural learning activities were used to explore methods that can encourage children's active participation in social life. At the same time, information about the Erasmus+ Programme and its opportunities was shared in order to motivate young people to become involved in international projects and mobility activities.

The project also sought to strengthen intercultural dialogue, foster mutual understanding and cooperation among young people from different countries, promote equal opportunities, and encourage active citizenship. By involving participants with fewer opportunities, the project contributed to greater inclusion and enabled young people from diverse social and cultural backgrounds to work together towards common objectives.

As a result of the “I Care About Kids” project, participants became more aware of the importance of supporting children's healthy development and gained practical tools to promote children's social engagement and well-being. The project also aimed to help families better understand the value of spending quality time with their children and supporting their participation in real-life social activities. Furthermore, it encouraged young people to become more actively involved in volunteering and community engagement, while contributing to the wider dissemination of the values, priorities, and opportunities promoted by the Erasmus+ Programme.
